It’s time to get fruity...

We’re hosting a Let’s Get Fruity Weekend on October 19th and 20th to tie in with the UK’s annual Common Ground Apple Day (October 21st).

The event will be a celebration of Somerset apples and cider as well as the diverse range of fruit that’s grown in the county.

Visitors will have the chance to taste* cider and fruit jams.

Somerset cider and apple experts will be in-store offering free advice on selecting and growing apple trees in the county as well as giving tips on making cider and juices.

To add to this, representatives from Charlton Orchard will have a wide range of apple varieties on show, including many traditional Somerset ones and some of these apples will be available to purchase.

We will also have Longmans cheese in store, allowing people to taste and buy all sorts or regional cheeses. They will be available 10.00am – 4.30pm on Saturday and from 11.00am – 4pm on Sunday.

Our Four Seasons restaurant will have a fruit-themed menu throughout the weekend, with dishes including pork and apple casserole on Saturday and roast pork with apple sauce on Sunday. There will also be apple pie available on both days.

If all this fruity talk has got you inspired to have a go at growing your own fruit, then we are also offering 10% discount on all fruit trees and bushes during the weekend.

Pop in and help us celebrate all that is Somerset!

*Only people over the age of 18 will be able to taste the cider.
