Spring-flowering bulbs

We have a wide range of spring-flowering bulbs in stock now as September is the best time to plant them ready for next year. Our range includes corms, tubers, rhizomes and true bulbs. Most bulbs are adapted to well-drained soils in full sun. However for shady areas, perhaps consider Erythronium and Galanthus.

Most of the bulbs are best planted immediately as they’ll develop extensive root growth if planted in early autumn. Bulbs from moist woodland areas such as Erythronium, Galanthus and Cyclamen generally need some shade so consider this when planting. Most hardy bulbs are used to dry climates and will thrive in a warm site with good drainage.

Plant them in groups with the growing points facing upwards. Plant at least three times the depth of the bulb and keep a similar distance between bulbs too.

Check out our Facebook album of some of our favourite flowering bulbs here. If you have any questions, our plant team will be more than happy to help. Happy planting!
