Free advice on sowing your own in 2014

Are you interested in sowing your own vegetables and other plants this year?

To kick off the New Year we will be offering complimentary advice on how to sow and propagate seeds, handle seedlings and grow on young plants, so why not pop in and chat to our team and get some free tips.

Our Plant Manager, Andrew says: “We can offer lots of advice on what equipment is suitable for people growing on window sills and for those with greenhouses. We can assist with everything from compost to sowing techniques.

“If I am not in, one of our two trained and highly-skilled Seasonal Plant Advisors: Jane Earthy and Sharon Michieli will be happy to help.

“Grow your own is going to be big again this year. People with everything from allotments to patios will be looking to produce food from their outdoor spaces to help with the spiralling costs of supermarket shopping. They are also realising that home-grown produce tastes better and is healthier for you.

“Sowing your own vegetable and herb seeds will produce plants that will not only look good growing in your garden, but also taste good when you cook them. Nothing beats the flavour of home-grown vegetables. You know precisely how they have been grown. They are fresh, seasonal and full of nutrients, and won’t have travelled half way around the world.”
