Insect pollinators

Help insect pollinators this autumn by planning a late-flowering border.

Alternatively, you can use plants that hold the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Perfect for Pollinators accolade, which we stock, in spaces in existing beds or pots.

Pollinator-friendly plants include autumn-flowering crocus, common ivy, dahlia, Japanese anemone, perennial asters, pileostegia viburnoides and sedum. The flowers offer easy to access nectar and/or pollen for bees and butterflies at a time of year when many other flowering plants have gone.

Be sure to plant them in full sun as this will attract most insects.
