Know your fruit and vegetables?

We’re setting you a fruit and vegetable challenge and hosting two quizzes throughout the day on September 24 and 28 between 11am and 3pm.

To celebrate British Food Fortnight, we’re hosting two quizzes with our local suppliers for you to be in with the chance of winning a basket of fruits and vegetables.

A range of unusual fruit and vegetables will be on display in our restaurant on September 24, supplied by Clarke’s fruit and vegetable wholesalers in Taunton, and you will be able to fill in a quiz form with your guesses as to what the items are. At the end of the day we’ll choose a winner at random, who will receive the prize.

A second quiz will take place on September 28 with unusual fruit and vegetables supplied by A David produce in Bristol. Winners of the baskets will be notified via telephone and will be asked to collect their prize at a convenient date.

British Food Fortnight is the biggest annual, national celebration of British food and drink.

It was established in the wake of the Foot and Mouth crisis, in response to the fact that, though there are numerous food initiatives, projects and events taking place across Britain, there was no overall flagship event to bring them to the public’s attention.

It would be great to see lots of you taking part in the quiz as it is open to all ages. We hope it will open people’s eyes to new and unusual fruit and vegetables too.
