‘Turbo’ veggies zoom into stock

We’re now offering the latest ‘turbo-boosted’ vegetable plants that are proven to produce 75% more fruit than traditional varieties.

We are stocking a range of grafted greenhouse crops, including tomatoes, aubergines, chillies and cucumbers, from our supplier, Suttons, because tests have proven the collection to be far superior to regular veggies. They are also described by Suttons as being a turbo range because of their growth and productivity.

The plants should be in-stock the week commencing April 11 and we’re expecting quite a demand for them, so if you’re keen to grow your own then keep in touch and watch our social media for an instant alert when they come in.

The range from Westcountry-based Suttons and has already proved a bestseller nationwide.
Grafting is widely used in plant propagation. It consists of the tissues of one plant, often with selective features such as good roots, being fused or grafted to another plant. The latter is chosen for another characteristic, for instance the fruits or stem. The outcome is a better yielding, more disease resistant plant.

The grafted produce, which is stronger and more resistant to pests, also has increased flavour and is more nutritionally beneficial. If anyone would like to know more, staff are more than happy to answer any questions gardeners may have about these specially developed plants.
