Hop in to support Rabbit Awareness Week
We’re calling on rabbit lovers to lend their support to Rabbit Awareness Week, which runs from June 18 until 26.
Rabbits are the fourth most popular pet in the UK, but unfortunately one of the most neglected, so we are supporting Rabbit Awareness Week with a variety of activities and advice on display for rabbit owners and lovers.
On Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19 our Pet Advisor, Leah Jones, will be bringing her crossbreed bunny, Albus, into the store for people to meet. Our Animal Care Advisor, Rosa Nation, will also be bringing her Flemish Giant rabbit, Neo, in for a visit on Saturday, June 25 and Sunday, June 26.
During both weekends we will also have a tombola to help raise money for the week. Tickets will cost £1 per strip or three strips for £2 and there are a selection of rabbit-themed goodies up for grabs.
During Rabbit Awareness Week the Pet Centre will be handing out care leaflets to anyone who stops by for more information. The leaflets also contain children’s word searches and a colouring competition.
We are also asking you to drop in your drawings or photos of your pet rabbits so we can display them during the week. You are welcome to drop these off into the Pet Centre.
Each year Burgess Pet Care, together with its partners MSD Animal Health, RSPCA, PDSA, The Blue Cross, the Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund and animal charity, Wood Green, join forces to focus on different aspects of rabbit care and welfare.
