Youngsters can plant up pansies and violas for Mum

Children from Somerset are invited to have a go at making their mums a special present for Mothering Sunday.

We’re hosting planting workshops for youngsters to plant up baskets of winter pansies and violas in the seasonal plant hall on Friday, March 24 and Saturday, March 25 from 9.30am until 1pm and from 2pm until 4.30pm and on Mothering Sunday, March 26 from 10.30am until 1pm and from 2pm until 3pm.

It’s always nice for mums to receive a special gift from their sons or daughters on Mother’s Day so we thought we would offer children the opportunity to plant up baskets of pansies or violas for their mums.

The workshops will take place in our seasonal plant hall and all of the materials will be provided, including an array of locally-grown pansies and violas that children can choose from.

You are welcome to drop in to either workshop on the days, no booking is necessary. The workshops will cost £2.99 per child and all children will need to be accompanied by an adult.

As well as making a lovely gift, the workshops are a great way to get children interested in gardening and learning how to plant something up.

It looks set to be a fun day and our expert staff will be on hand to guide and help youngsters through the process.
