Get a helping hand with your garden
We will be offering free gardening advice to all of our customers on all aspects of gardening as part of National Gardening Week from Monday, April 10 until Saturday, April 15.
National Gardening Week is a great way for people to get involved with gardening and get out into their plots.
To support the week we’re offering lots of free advice, demos and hints and tips to anyone who pops in to chat to our expert staff about their garden or allotment. We’re happy to chat to people of all abilities, whether they’re a dab hand at gardening or a complete beginner who wants to know where to start.
Some top tasks to tackle in the garden in April include:
- Net fruit trees and shrubs against bird damage
- Sow onions, beet and winter cabbage
- Sow your first carrots
- Cut back newly planted raspberries
- Remove the dead heads of daffodils and other spring flowers but leave foliage intact
- Finish pruning roses
- Mow lawns, weed and feed
- Clean houseplant leaves with a damp soft cloth. Remove any dead leaves.
National Gardening Week takes place from Monday, April 10 until Sunday, April 16. We will be closed on Easter Sunday, April 16.
