Step into spring

We’re offering you the chance to get free gardening advice and hints and tips on all aspects of gardening from Grown Your Own (GYO) to patio plot planting this and next month (March and April, 2017).

You are welcome to pop in whether you are already a keen gardener or are just looking to take up a new hobby.

We’ll have lots of our in-house experts on-hand for you to come and have a chat with.

Jobs to be doing now include:

  • Sow onions, beetroots and winter cabbage.
  • Sow your first carrots.
  • Finish pruning roses.
  • Mow lawns, weed and feed them if the weather is mild.
  • Time to get your shallot and onion sets (bulbs) in – leave the tops just showing but protect them from birds. You can sow some onion seeds now too.
  • Dust off your propagator or invest in a new one and sow aubergines, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers and chillies indoors.

We’ll also have displays of seeds, young plants and herbs to help inspire you to grow your own food this year.

We also have a special voucher booklet full of offers, including an afternoon tea for two, a free solar light, buy one get one free on compost and 50% off any one outdoor plant, which is exclusive to e-newsletter subscribers. You can sign up for our newsletter here.
