Our new restaurant supports Somerset suppliers

Our new restaurant was built with the help of businesses from the Somerset area so we have decided to stick to the theme of keeping it in the county with our stock too.

We are very open with our customers about where the food they are eating has come from. Pyne’s of Somerset in North Petherton is our main supplier of meat for the restaurant and has been with us for many years. The beef supplied to them comes from Fordgate near Bridgwater and includes Ruby Red Devon cattle and other traditional English breeds that provide the tastiest meat.

We also sell sparkling and draught cider from Orchard Pig Ciders, which is based just outside of Glastonbury, our bread is supplied by Wellington-based artisan bread maker, Ready Bready Dough and our extensive range of coffees are made using supplies from Clifton Coffee.

Pyne’s of Somerset was established in 1984. It handpicks its animals from a nearby farm during varying stages of the fattening process.

The farm uses a unique blend of cattle cake made especially for the animals it is rearing specifically for the butchers.

Orchard Pig Cider was set up in 2004 by Andrew Quinlan and Neil Macdonald. Its ciders and drinks are made from apples scrumped from Somerset orchards.

Ready Bready Dough was set up in 2007 and bakes a range of breads from speciality bread to spelt and gluten free to a traditional tin loaf.

Founded in 2001, Clifton Coffee roasts a range of seasonal espresso blends as well as rotating single origin coffees across the UK.

If you would like to find out more about our provenance you can ask our staff members for more information. We will also be installing a provenance map in the restaurant so you can see the exact places our food comes from.
