Our Somerset Life garden scoops top awards at Flower Show

Our Taunton Flower Show display garden was named ‘Best in Show’ and won a large gold medal last Friday (August 5, 2016).

We won the accolades during the event at Vivary Park for our Somerset Life show garden, which celebrated the year Her Majesty, The Queen, was born.

We’re absolutely over the moon to have picked up the Bill Cridland Memorial Trophy for ‘Best in Show’ for the fifth year running and a large gold medal for our Somerset Life Garden. It is fantastic to have our hard work and dedication rewarded.

We decided to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday with a special garden that was themed around the year she was born. We recreated a 1926 Somerset scene complete with lots of vintage props, including a post office and bike, and pictures as well as vintage-inspired flowers and plants.

We would like to say a huge thank you to www.barriepictures.co.uk for helping out with donations of images of Taunton and Somerset, which were on display in the garden, and the Willows and Wetlands Visitor Centre for helping with our post office bike.
