Time marches on…

 

Time to prepare for March with eight easy things to be getting on with:

  1. Sow under cloches beetroot, broad beans, Brussels sprouts, early carrots, lettuce, radish, spring onions, spinach turnips, parsnips, early peas and salad leaves.
  2. Sow indoors cauliflowers, celery, leeks, onions, summer cabbage and early tomatoes for the greenhouse.
  3. Plant out autumn sown onions.
  4. Hoe frequently for weed control and soil aeration. 
  5. Clean and weed asparagus bed.
  6. Add manure or fertiliser in final soil preparation.
  7. Repair and tidy paths, patios and decking.
  8. Dig in compost and fertiliser and weed borders.
